People, please remember that the primary place to find content for this course is at the MSUM Desire 2 Learn Homepage.

If, for some reason, you printed this out, the URL is https://mnstate.ims.mnscu.edu/

Welcome!

This is the first post for the blog for the CSIS 103 class at Minnesota State University Moorhead. Most of the course content is available via Desire 2 Learn which by now hopefully everyone can log into. If you can not, please see me during my office hours, or send me an e-mail.

The plan is that on Friday, August 26, we will all today make a blog (if we do not already have one), leave a comment on a classmate's blog post, and have a classmate leave a comment on a post of ours. Blogging is an easy way to put content on the web for the world to see.

An important thing to note is that while content on Desire 2 Learn is on the web, it is not for the world to see as one needs to log into the site in order to access the content.

On Friday, August 26, I should create a post for each section (during that section) and you should all leave a comment on that post that links to the blog you created, so I would be able to verify that you completed the assignment today of creating a blog, getting a comment, and leaving a comment.

We will also be learning how to use AOL Instant Messenger. If you do not already have a screen name, you can get one. If you do not already have an AOL Instant Messenger program on your computer, you can use AIM Express.

Don't worry if you have difficulty with either setting up a blog, or using AIM. We'll be doing both in class, and you and your classmates should help each other along as we do this.
